Make a robot helmet, fly through the sky as an astronaut or record your own podcast – that’s possible with the next Family Sunday in the Dortmunder U under the motto “U R ART” – you are art.
Ideas, a little time and a lot of fun – more is not necessary in order to create a robot head. Cardboard, scissors and handicraft supplies are ready. A photo with the finished robot head is free of charge.
During an astronaut flight you control the flight with your own body and can experience the world from space. Whoever cracks the high score, becomes the new superhero!
There is live music from the band Binyo, with musical ease and joyful texts enchant – to sing along, dance or watch.
In addition, the world’s largest friendship card will be created. If you have friends who live far away, you can mark their place of residence with a flag on the map of the world and tell a story about it, which you can listen to later as a podcast.
“Give me the garbage,” says the UZWEI exhibition area. On different stations brought along plastic cups, bottles, garments can be upcycled. Families who came verifiably environmentally friendly to the Dortmunder U, will also receive a little surprise. Children aged 5 to 12 can explore the Dortmunder U with the “A journey through the U” guided tours. In the afternoon pupils the guided tours will be turned the other way around: Then pupils will lead through the U show their favourite places in the house.
Shortly before the start of its new exhibition “A feeling of summer…”, the Museum Ostwall is taking the summer inside the Dortmunder U: the visitors are invited to transmute their most beautiful summer experience into a work of art. At the point of action you can print your favourite holiday picture from your smartphone. Afterwards, in the Kunstwerkstatt at the UZWEI, you can edit the summer painting with oil crayons, gouache paints or stabiles.
If you need little break from the many participatory actions, you can have it in the cinema: here you can watch animated films about aliens, animals or life on a farm all day long.
