Creating inviting places means offering clear welcomes to prospective visitors. This workshop introduces participants to the Welcome Maps framework. How do you create messages that are clear, user-centred, inclusive and open. This workshop is about using a simple framework to rapidly prototype new messaging for your organisation or project. TUse this session to explore and play with new ideas and take them back to your colleagues to develop them further and codesign invitations and welcomes that work for your visitors.
Alastair Somerville is a sensory design consultant. He provides specialist advice on cognition and user centred design to companies and public organisations who provide physical and digital products and services. He facilitates workshops on sensory and emotional design for corporations, including Fjord and Google, and major conferences, including SouthBy Southwest (SxSW), UXStrat and UX Week. He is currently involved in design for cognitive accessibility and mixed reality projects.
